The courtyard and pool area of The Chava are surrounded by really fabulous garden, pools, and landscaped features. While not large, the area is beautiful, relaxing, and private, feeling more like a spa than a resort pool.
The common area is built around the main pool, which has a variety of sun loungers, shaded massage areas, and dining tables. There are also small inlets off of the main pool, which provide private areas to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
The lobby area is surrounded by trees, overhanging vines, flowers, and aquamarine pools. The effect is really relaxing. You can see a few of the guests just sitting around enjoying the surroundings, and I can say that it's one of the few hotel "lobbies" that I would enjoy reading a book in.
The dining area where breakfast and light meals are served is separated from the "lobby" by an ornamental pool with the main pool on the other side. Palm trees are planted throughout the area giving nice natural shade and keeping the heat of the day off. Even during the middle of the day when we saw it, the water and foliage kept the area at a pleasant temperature.
The far end of the pool has a nice waterfall feature and is separated a bit from the main section of the pool from a few small "islands" with flowering plants, which provide a few private nooks for sunbathing. The pool also has some nice water jets that looked very relaxing.
The lobby has a relaxed and open feeling surrounded on all sides by water, trees, and foliage. There are comfortable chairs, an assortment of available drinks to enjoy and, of course, a 24-hour reception and concierge.
